Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center, part of CommonSpirit Health, is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room, assist the surgical team, and support a variety of procedures in a busy acute care setting in Chandler, AZ.

You will set up instruments, maintain sterile technique, and collaborate closely with nurses and surgeons to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. A strong team mindset and dedication to patient care are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School GED is required.
• High School Diploma is expected.
• Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists circulating nurses in set up of surgical procedure according to physician preference, standards of care and hospital protocol
• Handles laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining hospital standard of zero tolerance for mishandled specimens
• Assists the Surgeon during procedures as requested
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Performs follow-up actions as directed

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Technician, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School GED
• High School Graduate
• Minimum of four (4) years clinical experience as a surgical technologist.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred

• Surgical tech program graduate and Graduate of accredited surgical technologist program and certified as a surgical technologist plus two (2) years clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
