Penn State Health Corporation in Hershey, PA, is offering a Surgical Tech – GROW Spring/Summer 2027 opportunity. The role performs scrub duties and assists in-patient care in the Operating Room under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.

The GROW program provides 100% tuition coverage for the last semesters, with a guaranteed full-time position after certification and a one-year commitment to remain with Penn State Health.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and maintains a surgical technologist certification; graduates may obtain certification within six months of graduation.
• Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Army, Navy, or Air force.
• Previously employed to practice surgical technology by the hiring Penn State Health facility on or before Dec 29, 2020 or at another facility within two years prior to Dec 29, 2020.
• AHA BLS required prior to orientation completion

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist performs scrub duties and assists in-patient care in the Operating Room under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Prepares supplies and equipment for use in surgical procedures.
• Participates in surgical procedures by aseptic technique and proper handling of instruments and equipment.
• Acts as a preceptor to less experienced staff and students as indicated.
