St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist/LPN to join the surgical team under RN supervision, ensuring safe and sterile procedures. You will prepare instrumentation, supplies, and devices for surgeries and participate in maintaining patient safety.
The role emphasizes on-call availability, adherence to AORN and professional standards, and collaboration with the surgical team to maximize outcomes in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36
Work Shift: Three, 12-hour shifts from 6:15a to 6:45p during the weekdays.
Call is required during the weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Summary of the Job: Surgical Technologists/LPN functions as members of the surgical team in the role of a scrub person. They work under the supervision of a RN to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and surgical procedures maximizing patient safety and sterile technique with the application of AORN and professional standards. The Surgical Technologist is responsible to prepare and handle the instrumentation, supplies, and devices necessary for the surgical procedure.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing Frequently (34%-66%)- NONE Occasionally (1%-33%)– lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, crouching.
