Job summary

Odessa Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operative team by preparing sterile sets, maintaining instrument inventory, and assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures. The role requires attention to detail and adherence to sterile technique under supervision in a fast-paced operating room.

You will also assist with patient mobility before and after surgery and help with theater cleaning and turnover.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Experience with sterile set-up and intraoperative assistance.
• Ability to work under supervision with standard procedures.

Responsibilities

• Arrange and inventory sterile set-ups for operations.
• Pass instruments to doctors and nurses as needed.
• Assist in preparing/moving patients and cleaning the operating theater.

Job description

Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Must be a graduating of an accredited School of Surgical Technologists. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
