Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to support direct patient care in the operating room. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather sterile supplies, and maintain aseptic technique across UCI Health locations as needed.

Qualified candidates have at least two years in surgical technology, completion of an accredited program, and ability to work varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Required to float between UCI Health locations as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Surgical Tech is responsible for assisting with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room. Prepares and stocks the OR before and after surgery. gathers clean and sterile supplies. sets sterile instrument fields. maintains and monitors aseptic techniques. assists with the orientation of new staff. and participates on departmental committees. Applicants with less that two years of experience may be considered as a Surgical Tech (8931) with a pay range of $33.95-$42.19.

Applicants with two or more years of experience may be considered as a Sr. Surgical Tech (8930) with a pay range of $36.73-$45.67.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
• Required to float between UCI Health locations as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
