Job summary

University Clinical Health, Inc. is seeking a part-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support patient care in the operating room.

The CST will operate under the direction of the Registered Nurse to align with facility goals and professional standards. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program, possess current Surgical Technologist certification, and have BCLS certification or plan to complete it within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized Operating Room Technician Program.
• Prior ORT experience preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification required.
• Successful completion of BCLS course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure provision of patient care daily in an organized and timely manner.
• Assist the Registered Nurse to implement the teaching plan for the patient and family.
• Assist with stocking, replenishing, and preparation of supplies.
• Handle specimens per facility policy and procedures.
• Assist with care, preparation, maintenance, and after-care of sterile and un-sterile supplies and equipment.
• Respond to patient care needs in emergencies under direction of the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.

Position Summary

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is responsible for the provision of patient care to meet identified patient outcomes and achieve the facility's goals as directed by the Registered Nurse. The CST performs duties aligned with scope of practice designated by the facility position description, role, and responsibilities and according to the surgical technologist professional organization and certification board.

• Ensures provision of patient care daily in an organized and timely manner
• Assists the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse to implement the teaching plan for the patient and family as directed

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Graduate of a recognized and accredited Operating Room Technician Program Required
• Prior Experience as an ORT Preferred
• Current Surgical Technologist certification Required
• Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification Required
