Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is hiring an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team in Jersey City. The role supports the surgeon and RN, delivering patient care before, during, and after surgery, under supervision.

Evening shift and full-time status with alternating weekends are required. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an OR Technician program, 2–3 years of OR experience, and NBSTSA certification.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Must scrub across service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and RN during all phases of surgery and maintain sterile technique.
• Prepare, position, and drape patient; manage equipment and supplies.
• Respond to intraoperative needs and emergencies; ensure patient safety and comfort.
