Job summary

Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team across procedures. The role requires ensuring sterile technique, coordinating with the OR team, and contributing to patient recovery.

Qualified candidates have Surgical Technologist training, CST/TS-C certification, and BLS CPR, plus a minimum of three years hospital experience in this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of Surgical Technologist training.
• Completion of Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• A minimum of three (3) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist in Surgery-Certified (TS-C).
• Basic Life Support - CPR BLS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Set up operating room and surgical equipment, and assist the surgical team.
• Maintain a sterile environment and handle instruments according to standards.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique per AORN Guidelines and Universal Precautions.
• Care for blood and tissue specimens accurately and promptly.
• Support timely room turnover and communicate case progress and delays.
• Remain calm and decisive in urgent or emergent situations.
