Job summary

System Support is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the Operating Room and other hospital areas as assigned. You will scrub for procedures, ensure sterile supplies and equipment are available, and support surgeons and staff throughout operations.

The role includes orienting new team members, participating in complex cases, and contributing to PI projects. A high school diploma or GED is required; diplomas or associate degrees in Surgical Technology and CPR certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Diploma or Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Current CPR required.
• Certification CST (CAAHEP) or NCCT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub during surgical procedures and assist in the Operating Room.
• Ensure availability of sterile supplies, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Orient/training of new team members and support PI projects.

Job description

The Surgical Technologist (ST) performs technical functions to assist in the delivery of patient care within the Operating Room or other areas of the hospital as assigned. The ST provides assistance to other health care providers such as Registered Nurses, anesthesia staff, surgeons and other professionals. The primary role of the ST is to perform in the ‘scrub’ role during surgical procedures and to ensure availability of all sterile supplies, instrumentation, and equipment. Additionally, the ST provides orient/training to new team members, participates in very complex cases, and is responsible for driving PI projects to completion.

• Certified as a Surgical Technologist under the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist by graduating from a CAAHEP and passing a national certification examination (CST) OR, certification under the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) preferred.
