Job summary

Sentara Health in Hampton, VA seeks a Surgical Tech II to join our operating room team. This is a Flexi, Rotating shift opportunity, with duties including preparing the OR with instruments, maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, and assisting the surgical team during procedures.

The role requires 3 years of surgical tech experience, graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Assistant Program, and licensure as a Surgical Technologist (Virginia).

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Surgical Tech is required.
• Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Assistant Program is required.
• Licensed Surgical Technologist in Virginia is required.
• Trade School Graduate (Surgical Technologist) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with instruments and equipment and maintain a sterile field.
• Pass instruments and assist the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintain patient safety and ensure the sterile, organized surgical environment.
• Transfer patients to recovery and support dressings and draping as needed.
