Baptist Health is seeking a full-time Surgical Tech, First Assistant to join our team in Homewood, Alabama. The successful candidate will assist surgeons in various procedures, demonstrating knowledge of anatomy and sterile techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of recent surgical technology experience, as well as necessary certifications. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to perform various surgical tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program is essential.
• Successful completion of an accredited First Assistant training course with clinical components is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate understanding of sterile techniques.
• Anticipate needs of the surgical procedure.
• Participate in sponge and instrument counts.
• Maintain surgical specimens for pathology evaluation.
• Assist in ordering supplies under management direction.
• Perform under the surgeon's supervision.
