Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week surgical tech assignment in the operating room. The role requires assisting surgeons, maintaining asepsis, and supporting OR staff during procedures.

Must have CST and BLS certifications, high school diploma, and completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or military training. Previous OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in suturing, retracting, and suctioning as directed.

Description:Under general direction, observes and practices sterile technique.Maintains asepsis and anticipates and assists the surgeon as needed.Actively participates in patient care and safety.Utilizes OR supplies conservatively and operates as a team member of the OR staff.Follows infection control policies and procedures.Demonstrates expertise in surgical scrub technique.Adheres to principles of sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively.Assists the surgeon with gowning, gloving, draping, and passing of instruments and related items during procedures.Anticipates the surgeon's needs for instruments, sutures, and equipment.Maintains an organized operative field by keeping instruments clean and in their proper place.Keeps an accurate sponge, tape, needle, dissector, and instrument count.Prepares for cases by assembling supplies and equipment according to preference cards.Identifies conflicts or problems and cares for instruments and supplies appropriately after each case.Provides a safe surgical environment, identifying potential hazards.Assists RN in preoperative checks of equipment.Displays knowledge of potential hazards within the operating room.Utilizes experienced OR staff as a resource and acts as a resource for new staff.Assists in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under the direction of the surgeon.Handles and identifies specimens per policy.Expedites the effective and efficient turnover of the OR between cases.Takes rotating call duty.Will perform additional responsibilities as requested.
