Job summary

Infirmary Health in Mobile, AL seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing and caring for perioperative patients. You will prepare patient skin, position patients for surgery, and maintain aseptic techniques in the operating room.

You will also clean, prepare, store, distribute, and maintain OR supplies and instruments, and serve as a resource to other department staff to ensure efficient operation and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• 15 or more years’ experience working as a Surgical Tech.
• Grandfathered into Surgical Tech (911005) prior to 02/12/2017.
• BLS.
• One of the following: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by NBSTSA or TS-C from NCCT for incumbents grandfathered prior to 2017.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients according to type of surgery.
• Maintains aseptic techniques in the OR.

• For incumbents grandfathered into Surgical Tech (911005) position prior to 02/12/2017, current certification as a Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
