Job summary

Porter Medical Center in Middlebury, VT, part of the University of Vermont Health Network, seeks an OR support professional. You will assist during surgical procedures in the operating room, under the supervision of the RN circulator, and prepare the OR and equipment for cases.

A nursing license or Surgical Technology training is required and the position is union-bargained. Location: 115 Porter Drive, Middlebury; Department: Porter - Surgical Services; Shift: Variable.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing with current Vermont license.
• Or completion of a formal Surgical Technology program, certified or eligible to sit for certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures in the operating room under supervision of the RN circulator.
• Prepare the OR and equipment for procedures under supervision.

Job Description Functions as part of the surgical team by providing technical skill in preparation for, and assisting during, surgical procedures in the operating room, under supervision of the Registered Nurse circulator. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and current license with the Vermont State Board of Nursing, or completion of a formal education program in Surgical technology, certified or eligible to sit for certification, and maintains professional growth and development to stay current in the field.

This is a bargaining union position.
