Job summary

Cascade Surgicenter in Bend, OR is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech (CST) to join our orthopedic and neurosurgery center. The CST will support the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, including stocking supplies, draping, instrument handling and counts.

The role requires NBSTSA CST certification and BLS, with a minimum of one year experience; orthopedic experience is a plus. Shifts are 4 x 10 hours, Monday–Friday, with no nights or weekends, and wage is based on experience.

Qualifications

• Current NBSTSA Surgical Technologist Certification (or grandfather clause with documented practice).
• Current BLS certification.
• One year of experience required.
• Experience in orthopedics a plus.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Requirements

The CST performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery. This position is responsible for assisting the surgical team before, during and after surgery by performing various tasks, including but not limited to stocking supplies, draping, instrumentation handling, and instrument counts.

Qualifications

• Current NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) Surgical Technologist Certification or -- have met the grandfather clause by providing documentation showing that the person practiced surgical technology during at least two of the three years immediately preceding January 1, 2017.
• Current BLS certification
• One year experience required
• Experience in orthopedics a plus
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Full-time: Monday – Friday, 4 x 10-hour shifts, 7:00am – 5:30pm, variable mid‑week day off
• No nights or weekends
• Wage based on experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequently bend, climb, reach overhead, carry/push or pull up to 25 pounds, grasping/squeezing
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to speak and hear normal auditory levels
• Stamina to stand for long periods of time
