Job summary

Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, Idaho is seeking a skilled perioperative RN to provide direct patient care across the surgical continuum from pre-op through PACU. The role requires coordinating with anesthesia providers, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to discharge planning and education.

Ideal candidates hold an Idaho- or compact-state RN license, have surgical experience, and maintain BLS (ACLS within one year).

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with Associates, Diploma or BSN Degree required.
• Active Idaho or compact state RN license required upon hire.
• BLS certification upon hire; ACLS certification within one year of hire.
• Multiple years surgical experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills – navigate Microsoft Windows based programs.

Responsibilities

• Follows and supports the policies, mission, vision and values of Steele Memorial Medical Center (SMMC).
• Performs patient duties in pre-operative, intra-operative, in PACU and post-operative areas.
• Adapts nursing procedures to meet the needs for treatment of individual neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepares the patient for surgery in cooperation with the anesthesia provider.
• Begins and continues discharge planning and education throughout the peri-operative experience.
• Observes behavioral and physiologic changes and takes appropriate actions and documents
