Job summary

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Registered Nurse for Surgical Services to provide high-quality pre- and post-operative care to diverse surgical patients in a tertiary care, teaching environment. In this role you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, manage medications and IV therapy, care for wounds and drains, and educate patients and families.

You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams while advancing evidence-based practices

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient assessment and ongoing monitoring of surgical patients.
• Medication and IV management including perioperative protocols.
• Wound and drain care with attention to infection prevention and healing.
• Education of patients and families regarding procedures, post-operative care, and recovery expectations.
• Collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to support evidence-based practices.
