Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Synthesize history, exam, and tests to evaluate patients pre-operatively
• Provide telephone consultations and follow-up as needed
• Refer patients to physicians or specialists when appropriate
• Complete preoperative work-ups and postoperative follow-up in the office
• Review labs, EKG and imaging; address abnormalities promptly with the surgeon
• Write preoperative orders per patient needs and guidelines
• Notify surgeon of issues delaying or canceling procedures
• Maintain field proficiency by attending courses
• Comply with department rules and hospital medical records standards
• Assist in training students as requested
