Qualifications

• Knowledge of ICD-10 and medical terminology.
• 1–2 years insurance experience with prior authorization.
• 1–2 years medical scheduling experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain preauthorization for outpatient surgeries.
• Communicate with PCPs and utilization management to obtain authorizations.
• Follow up on requests to prevent last-minute cancellations.
• Inform surgeon, patient, facility and staff in case of denial and assist with appeals.
• Assist with urgent add-on surgeries preauthorization.
