Job summary

NEJM is seeking a Surgical Pathologist for the Indianapolis, IN area. This full-time, solo practice role covers cases across the hospital system, with a flexible Monday–Friday schedule and no on-call requirements.

The position includes performing frozen sections and FNA interpretations, serving as Medical Director of the hospital-based laboratory, and collaborating with the Director of Laboratory Services. EMR: Meditech Expanse; annual volume supports ~40,000 patients and 5,500 surgeries.

Qualifications

• MD/DO and board-certified or board-eligible in Surgical Pathology.
• Indiana licensure or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Perform pathological analysis of submitted specimens including frozen sections and FNA interpretations.
• Serve as Medical Director of the hospital-based laboratory.
• Operate in a full-time, solo practice with a flexible Mon-Fri schedule.
• No on-call requirements; collaborate with Director of Laboratory Services.
• Work within Meditech Expanse EMR; handle cases for a system serving ~40,000 patients and ~5,500 surgeries per year.

• Full Time, solo practice
• Flexible Mon-Fri schedule to cover cases generated throughout hospital system
• Regular performance of pathological analysis of submitted specimens, including frozen section and FNA interpretation
• Serve as Medical Director of hospital-based laboratory

• Working closely with the Director of Laboratory Services who is an experienced Medical Technologist.
