Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks a Physician Assistant to serve as a primary assistant to the surgeon. You will perform clinical evaluations in the office, counsel patients and families on proposed procedures, and address pre- and post-operative questions.

The role requires NYS PA licensure, BLS/ACLS, and NCCPA board certification. Surgical experience is preferred, with a focus on high-quality patient care and collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited PA program; current NYS PA license; BLS/ACLS certification; NCCPA board certification.
• Current Infection Control Certification and completion of a child abuse recognition course.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player; surgical experience or training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Primary assistant to the doctor; evaluate patients in the office and counsel families on proposed procedures.
• Address pre- and post-operative questions and concerns for patients.
• Coordinate with outpatient and inpatient teams to ensure high-level clinical care.
