Job summary

Five Star Nursing is seeking a dedicated Surgical/Operating Room Technician to join our healthcare team. You will support surgeons, nurses, and other professionals in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care for adult and pediatric patients in a dynamic hospital environment.

The role requires CST/TS-C certification and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, with a minimum of 3 years of recent trauma center experience.

Qualifications

• CST/TS-C certification required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in a level 1 or level 2 trauma center.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary equipment for procedures.
• Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and supplies and anticipating needs.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control throughout all surgical activities.
• Handle and track surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to uphold safety standards.
• Aid in patient positioning and preparation prior to surgery, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Perform post-operative cleanup of operating rooms and proper disposal of biohazard materials.
• Manage inventory and report supply needs to maintain stock levels.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless procedures and optimal outcomes.
