Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Oncology unit. The role requires delivering nursing care through the nursing process, collaborating with the care team, and upholding professional standards.

The RN will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and participate in unit-based performance improvement. PA licensure and BLS are required; one year of med/surg experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Pennsylvania.
• One year medical/surgical experience preferred.
• Evidence of successful completion of BLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs in depth, systematic assessment of all assigned patients.
• Formulates collaborative and individualized plan of care and identifies expected patient outcomes.
• Implements, evaluates and documents patient care interventions and effectiveness in accordance with care plan.
• Organizes, coordinates and prioritizes patient care using available resources.
• Maintains awareness of unit budget.
• Functions as a professional role model and resource person for co-workers.
• Participates in unit-based performance improvement.
• Maintains responsibility for own professional development through in-services and continuing education.
• Complies with established chain of command for work-related problems.
• Participates in identifying unit needs and supports unit goals and objectives for the Patient Services Department.
• Maintains departmental records for administrative and regulatory purposes.
• Collaborates with other caregivers to assure appropriate staffing levels on all shifts.
