Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA seeks an experienced Surgical Oncologist for an employed position within a growing cancer program.

You will balance outpatient clinic duties with operative responsibilities, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive cancer care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified in General Surgery or Surgical Oncology, or Board Eligible if newly trained.
• Fellowship training in Surgical Oncology is required.
• Eligible for California medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• 50/50 split between outpatient clinic and operative/procedural duties.
• Call responsibilities limited to care for own patients.
• Mentor and interact with general surgery residents and fellows.

Position Highlights

• Employed Surgical Oncologist position with the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center
• Growth opportunity within an established cancer program and expanding market
• Practice located on the hospital campus for convenient access to surgical and oncology resources
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Balanced 50/50 split between outpatient clinic and procedural/operative responsibilities
• Dedicated focus on surgical oncology patients within a multidisciplinary cancer care environment
• Approximately 10 new referrals per week with significant growth potential
• Call responsibilities limited to management of your own patients
• Collaborative multidisciplinary support team available to providers
• Hospital privileges at Desert Regional Medical Center
• Opportunity to mentor and interact with general surgery residents who may shadow the practice
• Residents and fellows encouraged to apply
• Ideal start date approximately 90 days following signed agreement
