Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA is seeking a skilled First Assistant Surgical Technologist to support operative teams.

As a first assistant, you will perform sterile instrument preparation, assist in invasive procedures, maintain the sterile field, and ensure readiness of equipment for the surgical team.

This role requires CST and BCLS, plus CSA/CSFA or equivalent certification, and at least 3 years of perioperative experience to uphold Piedmont's standards of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
• 3 years perioperative services experience is required.
• CST certification required.
• BCLS certification required.
• Certified surgical assistant (CSA), Certified surgical first assistant (CSFA), Surgical assistant, certified, (SA-C) or equivalent certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case.
• Prepares and provides sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for the operative procedure in the role of scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
