Job summary

The Cincinnati Eye Institute in Blue Ash, OH is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to deliver patient-centered care by ensuring clear financial and surgical communication for procedures.

You will schedule surgeries, educate patients pre-surgery, coordinate pre-op appointments with patients or caregivers, review insurance benefits, prepare cost summaries, counsel patients on Physician Fee and Eye Surgery Center, and follow up to collect payments. SUMMARY

Deliver excellent patient-centered care by ensuring the financial and surgical communication process is complete for patients having surgical procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will require flexibility and a broad knowledge base, with ability to perform any of the below tasks.

• Schedule surgery, perform pre-surgery patient education regarding preparation for surgery and communicate with all associated facilities.
• Schedule and coordinate pre-op appointments with the patient and/or the patient’s care giver.

PHYSICAL** REQUIREMENTS**

• This role requires a variety ofphysicalactivities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25–50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity—including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus is required100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
