Job summary

SBH Health System is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive, patient-centered ENT care. The NP collaborates with the Otolaryngologist and healthcare team to evaluate, diagnose, and manage both acute and chronic ENT conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.

The position primarily supports the outpatient clinic with occasional hospital rounds, surgical assistance, and inpatient/ER consults in collaboration with the ENT attending, requiring independent practice and strong

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in advanced practice is required.
• BSN is required.
• Current NYS NP and RN license are required.
• New York State NP certification (FNP) is required.
• BLS from American Heart Association is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic ENT conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Collaborate with otolaryngologists and the healthcare team.
• Work primarily in the outpatient clinic with occasional hospital rounds and surgical assistance.
• Manage hospital inpatient consults and ER consults in consultation with ENT attending, including overnight consults.
• Work independently while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams; maintain strong organizational and time management skills.

Job description

Nurse practitioner to provide comprehensive and patient centered care for individuals with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck.

• Expected to work collaboratively with the Otolaryngologist and the healthcare team
• Responsible to evaluate, diagnose, treat and manage both acute and chronic ENT conditions in both an outpatient and inpatient setting
• The NP would work primarily in the outpatient clinic during designated clinic times with occasional hospital rounds and surgical assistance as needed
• The NP would also be responsible for evaluating and managing Hospital Inpatient consults and Emergency room consults in consultation with the ENT attending. This would include the evaluation of consults placed overnight.
• Basic knowledge of ENT diseases and disorders is preferred as well as the ability to make diagnostic and clinical decisions
• The Nurse Practitioner must be able to work independently while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams and have strong organizational and time management skills

Requirements

Preferred Criteria:

Minimum three years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
