Position: Surgical Coordinator

The Surgical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of tests, procedures, and surgeries.

This is a large surgical practice with over 50 staff members, including 2 other surgical coordinators and 14 surgeons across multiple specialties.

It is a very busy Lung & Airway Center/Surgical Subspecialties practice.

Responsibilities include:
  • Authorizing, coordinating, and booking surgeries

Experience in authorizations and surgical booking is strongly preferred.

Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus two years of related experience
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Two years of progressive experience in a medical office
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines
  • Surgical coding knowledge (CPT and ICD-10) is preferred
  • CPR certification is preferred
