Job summary

Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Surgical Care Assistant for a union 0.8 FTE day/evening shift. The role supports PSCU, PACU and STCU, assisting with admission/discharge, patient transfers and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Salary ranges from $20.87 to $29.21 per hour with benefits; non-exempt under FLSA; benefits include medical/dental, 401k with match, disability, tuition/educational reimbursement, and access to onsite clinic and fitness center.

Qualifications

• BLS certification or CNA program completed within last five years.
• Six months of acute care or long-term care nursing assistant experience (0.5 FTE+) in last five years.
• Clinical rotation in RN or LPN program within last year.
• Six months of Emergency Room Technician experience (0.5 FTE+) in last five years.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with admission and discharge prep and transportation.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and assist in nursing care.
• Assist with bathing, transfers, rooming pre/post operation and transporting to vehicle.
• Collect basic patient data including vitals and weights; perform point-of-care testing as needed.
