Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics is seeking an Authorization Coordinator to support surgical case authorizations, verify demographics and insurance eligibility, and document all authorization progress. The role emphasizes strong communication with physicians, patients, and staff and ensuring timely confirmations of cases.

Responsibilities include completing cost analyses, assisting schedulers with STAT authorizations, and training staff on new processes while upholding HIPAA privacy and compliant handling

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare, referrals/authorizations, front office, and/or charge posting preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor authorizations for upcoming surgical cases and ensure timely, accurate approvals.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility; coordinate benefits for claims processing.
• Complete surgical cost analysis and document estimated costs prior to services.
• Verify benefits for Visco injections and document authorizations in patient charts.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and staff to maintain positive relationships.
• Assist with training staff on new processes to improve timely confirmations of cases.
• Assist schedulers with STAT authorizations and help reduce complaints professionally.
