Job summary

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to designated areas meeting patient comfort and safety requirements; assists in moving and positioning patients in the operating room under RN/MD direction.
• Transports and cleans equipment throughout the operating room; handles and operates equipment properly and initiates work orders if required; follows high level disinfection and environmental standards.
• Assists in room turnovers to expedite OR utilization.
• Assists in cleaning surgical suites at the end of the daily schedule to ensure readiness for the next day.
• Checks stock levels by sub-sterile assignments or cart assignments and restocks assigned units according to guidelines.
• Responds promptly to requests for transports of beds, specimens, etc.
• Maintains appropriate interactions with patients and families considering age/developmental stages.
• Adheres to hospital policies and confidentiality; supports customer service and quality improvement initiatives.

Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent.

Required License/Certifications: Current CPR certification.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
