Job summary

South Valley Oral & Facial Surgery in the San Jose/Gilroy area is hiring a Surgical Assistant for our oral surgery team. The role supports surgeons during procedures, handles preoperative tasks, maintains sterile environments, and helps document patient care.

You will travel between locations as needed, participate in radiographs, and collaborate with referring dentists to deliver outstanding patient experiences. A strong attention to detail, teamwork, and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification (or within 1 month of hire).
• Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities.
• Attention to safety, vigilance, and meticulousness.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Excellent manual dexterity and listening skills, especially in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures with precision.
• Perform preoperative tasks and maintain sterile environment.

Required Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification (or completed within 1 month of hire)
• Strong teamwork and independent work capabilities, demonstrating good judgment and critical thinking.
• Passion for ensuring safety and exceptional attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulousness.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Excellent manual dexterity and superior listening skills, especially in emergency scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous oral surgery experience is beneficial.
• DAANCE certification is desirable.
• Licensed dental assistant status is preferred.
• Radiology certification is a plus.
