Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute announces an opportunity for an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Vascular Surgery Team in Pineville—serving both hospital and clinic settings with a broad spectrum of vascular conditions. This is a full-time role with a pay range listed and benefits eligibility.

Position involves inpatient and outpatient care, surgical coordination, and rotating weekend inpatient coverage, with board certification and ACLS/BCLS

Qualifications

• Proficient in conducting medical histories, physical exams and daily assessments.
• Accurate documentation of findings, plans of care and patient encounters.
• Ability to write prescriptions and order labs/imaging as clinically indicated.
• Ability to determine and communicate treatment plans and collaborate with care teams.

This person will function in both the hospital and clinic setting, taking care of a broad spectrum of vascular medical conditions.

Essential Functions

• Performs initial and periodic medical history, physical examinations, and daily assessments
• Records findings of examinations, assessments and plan of care
• Writes appropriate prescriptions and administers medications
• Orders and interprets laboratory and radiology examinations
• Determines treatment plan for patient
• Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
• Acts as a patient advocate for the population served
• Attends, participates and contributes to group/practice meetings and development of policies and procedures when requested
• Interest in working in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Rotating weekend inpatient coverage

Education, Experience and Certifications

• At least 1 years of experience in the PA or NP role in an acute care setting preferred
• Completed an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant or acute care nurse practitioner program
• Both basic and advanced cardiac life support required
• Board Certification by appropriate board
• Superb communication skills, and a passion for program development and collaboration
