Job summary

MarinHealth Medical Center is seeking Surgical Assistants to perform patient care, transportation, and support under supervision of a RN or physician. The role focuses on assisting in operative and recovery areas, and ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow.

Qualified candidates will have CNA/EMT background, BLS, and healthcare experience; training in IAMTAC within 30 days is required. This full-time position requires a high level of professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred; completion of Nurse Assistant, EMT, or Orthopedic Technician preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of one year full-time patient care experience (Nurse Aide, Hospital Technician, or Orthopedic Technician).
• Licenses/Certifications: BLS required at hire; CNA or EMT required at hire; IAMTAC within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lifts, moves, and assists patients into/out of bed; assists with transfers.
• Pushes/pulls wheelchairs and gurneys; maintains cleanliness of devices.
• Weighs patients and records in chart; takes vital signs (BP/HR/RR/temp).
• Documents patient care per policy; assist nursing staff with tasks.
• Stocks rooms and supplies; helps with setup of equipment and traction.
