Job summary

Southeastern Oral Surgery is seeking a detail-oriented team member to assist the oral surgeon during a variety of procedures and to prepare treatment rooms according to protocols. You will take dental x-rays, review Health History, and ensure infection control standards are met.

The role supports patient comfort before, during, and after surgery and involves record-keeping and basic office tasks. Ideal candidates have 1+ years in surgical settings, strong communication skills, and a professional

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, punctual, and patient-care-focused.
  • Motivated to grow and learn new things.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the oral surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.
  • Review patient Health History to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely.
  • Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol, and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment.
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures.
  • Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the oral surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures
  • Prepare treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality
  • Review patient Health History to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely
  • Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol, and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures, such as the placement of dental implants or extraction of third molars
  • Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in an inpatient or outpatient surgical environment
  • Experience in a hospital environment is highly preferred but oral surgery experience is not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Consistently professional appearance and attitude
  • Must be detail-oriented, punctual, and patient-care-focused
  • Motivated to grow and learn new things
  • High school diploma or equivalent
