Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California seeks a skilled Surgical Technologist to support sterile field creation and aseptic technique under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The role emphasizes orthopedic cases, perioperative and GI duties, and requires BLS on hire, NBSTA preferred, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved OR tech program required.
• NBSTA certification preferred.
• BLS Certification required upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year of surgical technician experience in an accredited hospital with orthopedic emphasis.
• Must be able to work as Surg Tech and in SPD.

• Provide sterile field and aseptic environment under RN direction.
• Perform perioperative/gastrointestinal duties as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for proving technical services, creating a sterile field and maintaining an aseptic environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse in compliance with thestandards of the department. Is knowledgeable in population specific requirements of care.

Performs perioperative/gastrointestinal related duties as required. Maintains the proper care storage, and requisitioning of supplies and equipment for patient care.

REQUIREMENTS:

This Full Time position will consist of day shifts with call. MUST LIVE WITHIN 30 MINUTES of the facility, due to call schedule.

High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of approved O.R. technician program required. Prefer Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. BLS Certification is required upon hire. Must have at least 1 year of experience as a surgical technician in an accredited hospital with an emphasis on Ortho. Ability and willingness to work as a Surg Tech as well as in SPD.
