Responsibilities

• Collects patient clinical and demographic data and insurance or payer information.
• Verifies payer coverage and obtains physician orders.
• Oversees secretarial staff to assure accurate data entry, appropriate phone answering, management of clinical records, and provision of clinical records when requested.
• Ensures appropriate staff coverage within the agency and coordinates referrals to maintain efficient operations.
• Liaises with the central billing office to troubleshoot billing issues and ensure necessary items are completed for timely billing.
• Assigns and delegates responsibility to staff, participates in interviews, orientation, and evaluations.
