Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL seeks a Surgery Scheduler Ophthalmology for a full-time position.

In this role you will coordinate scheduling of ophthalmology surgeries and related procedures, select the appropriate preference card, and coordinate staff, rooms, and equipment in collaboration with charge nurses and managers. Excellent communication with physicians and teams is essential. High school diploma required; medical terminology training preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates the scheduling of surgeries and related procedures.
• Selects appropriate preference card for procedure to be performed based on physician booking sheet.
• Determines and coordinates availability of staff, rooms, and equipment in collaboration with charge nurses and managers.
• Communicates with physicians, other departments and healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
• Completes other duties as assigned

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Preferred:

• Medical terminology training.
