Job summary

Texas Oncology seeks a Registered Nurse II for the Stone Oak Surgery clinic in San Antonio, TX. This is a full-time role, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with no weekends, call or major holidays. The position supports Grapevine and Irving locations as needed.

The RN provides professional nursing care in alignment with standards and guidelines, with emphasis on patient education, safety, and quality initiatives. BSN preferred; 3–5 years of nursing experience; active RN license and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience.
• Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history.
• Provide teaching and other instructional material to patients/families.
• Provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
• Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
• Manage patient medication refill requests and document in the chart.
• Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments.
• Triage patient phone calls and document information in the chart.
• Coordinate services related to patient care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist patients in locating community resources.
• Collaborate with LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants.
