MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a FULL-TIME locum Orthopedic Surgeon for July ongoing coverage!

Schedule:

• Start date: 7/1/25
• Full-time Locum Orthopedic Surgeon
• Clinic Days: Monday - Friday
• Clinic Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• On Call: Yes

Details:

• Inpatient Responsibilities: Rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR
• Job Responsibilities: Clinical, Surgical, Trauma/Orthopedic Call
• Number of Physicians: 4
• Number of Advanced Practice Providers: 7
• Supervision of APP expected: Yes
• Physician Nurse Ratio: 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers
• Ancillary Staff per Provider: 3 receptionists, 7 providers, 2 surgery schedulers
• Number of Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms
• Medical Imaging: Yes
• Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
• Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: Mainly consults, current average hospital daily census 160 patients/day
• Appointment Length: 10-30 minutes depending on the type of visit
• Demographics: Hub hospital serving 16 counties, population 200,000+
• EMR: GE Centricity (clinic), Epic (hospital; transitioning in December)
• Teaching Opportunities: IM and FM residency programs; PA student rotations
• Services Offered: Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements; hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgeries; trauma, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.

• Board Certified
• Active IA License or IMLC (please upload LOQ)
• Availability to start on 7/1/2025
• Must be available at least 2 weeks per month for coverage
