Job summary

M-F 8:00am to 12 noon

Summary:

The Surgery Aide is responsible for cleaning designated areas and equipment within the Operating Room Department.

Responsibilities

• 1. Cleans designated areas and equipment within the Operating Room Department.
• 2. Assists with inventory and transport of patients and beds within Surgical Services.
• 3. Assists nursing staff with restocking supplies in OR suites; assists nursing staff with returning equipment upon completion of procedure.
• 4. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• 5. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• 1. Experience in a medical patient care environment is preferred.
• 2. Experience in central processing and housekeeping is preferred.
• 3. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
• 4. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• 5. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

• 1. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2. Certification: Heart Saver and AED is required within 90 days of hire.
• 3. Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
