Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with first assistant competency to support operative and invasive procedures in the Macon area.

The role involves assisting the surgical team, preparing sterile instruments, and maintaining a sterile field to ensure safe, efficient procedures. Strong perioperative experience and required certifications are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon.
• 3 years perioperative services experience.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures in accordance with credentials, privileges, experience, education and competency verification.
• Assists OR staff in the assigned room/case. Prepares and provides sterile instruments, supplies and equipment as scrub tech.
• Maintains the sterile field and anticipates and responds to the needs of the surgical team.
