Job summary

Versant Health is seeking a manufacturing associate to fine, polish, and apply lens blocks and coatings according to work instructions. The role involves operating fining and polishing machines, validating equipment, and ensuring proper temperatures and timings.

You may rotate among related tasks and must follow safety and quality procedures to maintain compliance. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of manufacturing experience, with the ability to read English

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Powers up equipment and performs equipment validation process.
• Operates multiple fining and polishing machines simultaneously.
• Fines lens for predetermined time according to lens material.
• Monitors polish temperature and ensures correctness of blocks.
• Loads blocks in blocking stations and keeps blocks flush with the plate.
• May rotate among other functions within the department.

What are we looking for?

The purpose of this position is to fine, polish, manually apply a lens block to the lens front and apply lens coating according to work instructions

Where you will have an impact.

• Powers up equipment and performs equipment validation process
• Operates multiple fining and polishing machines simultaneously
• Fines lens for predetermined amount of time according to lens material
• Verifies the polish temperature
• Loads the blocks in the blocking stations and ensures the blocks are flush with the plate
• De-blocks lens using lens ring and return laps on return conveyor
• Releases alloy onto lens, monitor process, block and place both blocked lenses back into appropriate tray for further processing
• Loads two lenses at a time into machine to complete automatic cleaning for coating process
• Removes lenses from machine and dry front of lens. Review for imperfections and places lenses in the tray
• Monitors auto-blocker and troubleshoot machine errors
• Picks up alloy, blocks and work from polishing stations as needed
• Initials the surface equipment verification log to confirm machine validation
• May rotate among other functions within the department
• Practice and comply with all requirements of our Quality Management System (QMS), prescribed safety and hazardous materials handling procedures, and Federal/State laws regulating hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal
• Other duties assigned

What’s necessary to do the job?

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience preferred

• Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions
• General problem-solving abilities
