Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Melbourne, Florida office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of design experience to join the Surface Water team. This on-site role supports roadway and water resources projects for public clients, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and jurisdictions to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities include hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, drainage design, memos and submittals, and assisting with scopes, budgets, and client relations; there is a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
  • Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • Experience with Microstation/OpenRoads, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HydroCAD, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support roadway and water resources practices with multi-disciplinary teams for public clients.
  • Work on projects including roadway widening, pedestrian improvements, flood studies, and green infrastructure.
  • Prepare hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, drainage maps, storm sewer networks, and design plans.
  • Produce technical memorandums, feasibility studies, and regulatory submittals.
  • Assist with scopes of work and budgets for projects.
  • Build internal and external professional relationships and collaborate with jurisdictions and contractors.
