Job summary

Prefix-Corporation seeks a paint and body repair technician with at least 1 year of hands-on experience to prepare surfaces, mask areas, and finish painted parts. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, with a certificate from a technical or industrial trade school preferred.

Strong self-motivation and time budgeting skills are essential. Responsibilities include sanding, grinding, buffing, moving articles to/from the paint booth, and maintaining a safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

Perform preparation work prior or after painting such as grinding, sanding, buffing. For parts not painted, mask-off areas not to be painted.Fill cavities and dents as necessary and surfaces repaired area to attain required finishCleans and prepares surface of articles to be painted using solvent, sandpaper and wire brushMoves painted articles from preparation area to and from paint boothFinish surfaces by polishing with sandpaper, pumice, compound, wax or other materialsMaintain clean and safe work environmentPerform other tasks as assigned or approved by the supervisorBackground in paint and body repair with a minimum of 1 years hands-on experience.A High School or GED equivalent required. A certificate from an accredited technical or an industrial trade school is preferred.Needs to be a self-starter with proficiency in budgeting time.Incumbent must possess basic hand tools for the position and upgrade such tools as required to complete the tasks assigned.
