Tokio Marine HCC – Surety Group is offering a Summer 2027 Underwriting Internship at our Birmingham office. The intern will learn surety underwriting concepts and provide administrative support to our team of underwriters.

Responsibilities include data entry, file setup for underwriters, preliminary credit and financial analysis, and broker communication related to billing and status inquiries. The program seeks students pursuing a bachelor’s degree with leadership potential and strong

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with 60+ college credits and a 3.0+ GPA.
• Summer internship; available for consecutive weeks over the summer.
• Strong written and verbal communication; confidentiality and diplomacy.
• Proactive contributor with leadership capabilities and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and verification in proprietary software and databases.
• Set up files for underwriters within standard timeframes; gather financial information.
• Learn and assist with preliminary credit and financial analysis.
• Billing and status inquiries handling with brokers.
