Job summary

Rust-Oleum Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to maximize plant availability while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will lead maintenance personnel, assess work quality, and support budget decisions for operating and capital projects.

The role emphasizes preventative and corrective maintenance, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a global coatings environment. Strong leadership and CMMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• BS degree preferred in mechanical engineering or industrial technology.
• Minimum 3–5 years as maintenance supervisor.
• Demonstrated leadership in preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, safety, standard work, and coaching.
• Experience with CMMS is required.
• PSM and/or TCPA experience preferred.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
• ISO 9001:2008 experience preferred.

• Monitor employees' work levels and review performance.
• Track tool and part inventories and maintain shop conditions.
• Investigate accidents and prepare findings reports.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions as needed.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
• Counsel employees on work-related issues and develop skills.
• Examine facilities to determine installations, services, or repairs needed.
• Arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques.

As our Maintenance Supervisoryouwill be to maximize availability of all plant and equipment while complying with safety, legislative, environmental and certifying authority requirements by ensuring efficient preventive and corrective maintenance, supervising activities of maintenance personnel, providing recommendations for solutions to maintenance problems, verifying completed work meets applicable requirements; and recommending operating and capital budget items.

• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
• Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
• Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
• Investigate accidents and injuries, and prepare reports of findings.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
• Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
• Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
• Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
• Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.

Required Experience:

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or industrial technology preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor.
• Demonstrated leadership in the following areas: preventative maintenance, implementing continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, safety, standard work and employee coaching & development.
• Experience with CMMS required.
• PSM (Process Safety Management) and or TCPA experience preferred.
• Must possess good verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
• Experience in ISO 9001:2008 environment preferred.
