It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY.

Summary

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - WHITE HOUSE COMMUNICATIONS AGENCY.

Duties
  • Performs contract administration functions by approving technical requirements, reviewing and approving costs, developing technical specifications, and monitoring contractor work in progress.
  • Plans and coordinates project implementation, to include network engineering and installation, and schedules/coordinates authorized service interruptions.
  • Develops and administers program management tracking system to ensure all actions necessary to implement changes, upgrades and life cycles are properly identified, coordinated, and completed on schedule.
  • Ensures all emerging programs are technically compatible, employs proper security considerations, provides adequate functionality, and meets or exceed standards and guidelines for the security of telecommunications systems.
  • Manages funds and tracks expenditures for the respective equipment, system, or program to ensure adequate resources are available to complete projects, or provide service to customers.

Basic Requirements

Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following competencies appropriate to, or above, the level of this position. For vacancies below the full-performance level of the position, the basic requirement will be evaluated on a developmental basis. Customer Service -

developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs

Oral Communication -

briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience

Problem Solving -

identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.

Qualifying Experience

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must possess qualifying experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience managing technical contracts, executing program budgets, and overseeing network engineering implementations to ensure telecommunications and infrastructure systems meet security, compatibility, and lifecycle standards.

Volunteer Experience:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
