Apply for Supported Employment Job Coach
Job Description
This document outlines the duties, responsibilities, and expectations associated with the position described below.
Position Overview
The Supported Employment Job Coach provides individualized employment services and workplace supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who may experience barriers to employment.
The position supports individuals throughout the employment process, including exploring employment interests, identifying opportunities, preparing for employment, learning job responsibilities, developing workplace skills, maintaining employment, and increasing independence.
Job Coaches may provide support within More Maitri's thrift-store employment program and at community-based employment sites.
Working within a person-centered, community-based model, the Job Coach supports each individual in pursuing meaningful employment while promoting choice, self-determination, dignity, inclusion, independence, self-advocacy, and full participation in the workplace.
The role is not to perform the individual's job for them. The Job Coach teaches, coaches, models, encourages, and provides the level of support necessary for each individual to become as independent and successful as possible. As skills develop, direct support should be appropriately reduced.
