Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Support CDL Driver to fill in on open routes and support daily delivery operations in Minnesota. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes while maintaining safety, service, and timely deliveries.

The position offers hours from Monday to Friday with overtime opportunities. Starting wage ranges from $24.00 to $30.75 per hour, based on experience, with overtime after 40 hours and occasional weekend OT as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid CDL Class A license or complete company-paid CDL training.
• Willingness to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement and pass pre-employment checks.
• Excellent customer service and strong organization skills are essential.

Responsabilités

• Cover open, vacant, or unassigned routes based on daily business needs.
• Assist with daily morning tasks like sorting freight and loading trucks.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers in a timely manner.
• Inspect the vehicle and report any mechanical issues.
• Collect payments as needed and verify shipping papers.
• Communicate issues to management and document discrepancies.
• Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Attend weekly meetings and share goals and assignments.
• Travel may be required; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Support CDL Driver fills in on open or unassigned routes to support daily delivery operations. This role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules based on business needs while maintaining safety, service, and delivery standards.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:00AM- completion of route


• May be expected to cover variable shifts based on business needs


• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week


• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)


• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week


• Starting wage: $24.00-30.75 per hour, based on experience


• The posted pay range reflects the compensation range for this position. Starting pay will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skills and internal equity. Employees are generally hired below the maximum of the range to allow room for future compensation growth as they gain experience, develop their skills and demonstrate increased proficiency in the role. Compensation increases are based on applicable company policies, performance and individual development

Duties And Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned route based on business needs


• Assist drivers with daily morning duties such as sorting freight, loading trucks and other duties as needed


• Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers


• Inspect and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle


• Collect payments as needed


• Verify the content of pickups on shipping papers


• Notify management of any problems or discrepancies


• Maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle


• Participate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignments


• Travel may be required


• Perform other required duties as assigned

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission


• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement


• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Must hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical


• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds


• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.


• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
